I saw this on a t-shirt today and had to find out more about it! Here’s the details from the web site that is selling it. I don’t know much about the group running that site, but I like their message! Here’s a link: liveoffensively.com
Front:Jesus Died for Terrorists
Back:Jesus Died for all evil acts of terror, even abortion
50 million Americans aborted since 1973No one will ever forget the moment the word “terrorism” entered our daily vocabulary. Each of us remembers staring at the television in disbelief and horror as the second plane hit the South Tower. It is almost natural that when we think of the word terrorism, we think of the New York Sky Line exploding and crushing thousands of innocent people. And when we hear the word terrorist, we think of Islamic extremists with bombs strapped to their chests or with their faces masked beheading business man Nicholas Berg. Undoubtedly, the media has profoundly shaped our understanding of this powerful word: Terror.
Global political terrorism is a real thing that we experience as citizens. As a free society, we have emphasized that “terrorism is a savage disregard for human life that cannot be tolerated by a civilized world.”And yet we have tolerated it on our own soil.
We have tolerated the beheading of the unborn for over 33 years. We have tolerated the killing of four thousand innocent children each day in our land. The number of people who died on 9/11 is the same number as babies who are killed from abortion each day, and most of us don’t even think twice about it.
The definition of terrorism is the use of violence without warning against those who are utterly defenseless. It is a willingness to act without regard to the claims or loss of innocent human life. That definition captures the act of abortion.
Allen Keyes points out the irony of our nation, “we fight in a war against an evil that cannot be defined as evil except we accept this truth – that we owe respect to the claims of innocent life. And yet that very evil, so understood, is but the shadow of the evil that we ourselves do, that we ourselves tolerate and that we ourselves in our institutions have declared to be a right. We stand, today a people in contradiction of ourselves.”
We as a nation have allowed mothers to go through the most inhumane, destructive, and barbaric procedure known to man. The audio clips from a partial birth abortion (the pains of the woman overtop the vacuum sucking the child’s brains out from its skull) would alone make a grown man sick. The visuals are worse. Don’t just take my word for it, type the word “abortion” into Google.com and click “images,” and you’ll see what real terrorism is.
No matter what a person wants to label it, abortion is a deadly assault on the most innocent citizens in our nation. Legalized abortion on demand is our greatest terrorist threat as a people and as a free society. The future of any nation rest on its children, and they should be protected from acts of terror. But they are not. Those who perform abortions are some of the greatest terrorists in the world, and yet our culture has deemed them as heroes of women’s rights.
Our t-shirt is designed to do two things:
It professes the unbelievable truth that forgiveness is possible, because God’s wrath was poured out on Jesus for every sin against God, including acts of terror.
It reveals the rarely talked about relationship between abortion and terrorism. We are not saying that every terrorist will be saved from damnation, as we believe salvation is reserved for those who have confessed their sin, turned from their wicked ways, and asked Christ to be their substitute for the judgment that they deserve.
We are also not saying that women who have had abortions are terrorists. Though the woman’s signature is the final authority on the death of her child, they are often victims of the lies and the pressure of society to have their wombs vacuumed. However, abortion doctors, who are continuing today this violence on babies, are domestic terrorists who are destroying our nation’s children and our hope of a bright future. Through repentance, God loves and forgives them for the sin of abortion. His love can heal and remove that sin as far as the East is from the West.
We are also not encouraging social vigilantism towards abortionists; that would make us as much terrorists as them. It is true that this is a war, but it is a war on an idea –that unborn citizens do not have the right to be protected. The war can be won when people view abortion the way that God does. And that’s where you come in as His ambassador, His messenger, His light on a hill.
The greatness of a nation is measured not by its military fortitude, but rather by its strength tempered with the respect, rights, and protection it gives to the least and most vulnerable of its people. We, as a nation, have allowed a huge contradiction to exist. We say we are against terrorism, but we have no guiding principle for protecting innocent human life in our own country. When we permit the legalization and individual apathy to allow the unborn to be victims of this violent crime, we are allowing our nation to be a terrorist nation that does not defend the rights of people to live freely.
If it is for you, please wear this t-shirt with humility and love. May you “speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…defend the rights of the poor and the needy,” Prov. 31:8-9. May you bring the love of Christ even to those who incite terror on little ones.
